The Student Accounts Representative is the primary detail oriented contact for students, parents, and other third parties who provides information and understanding on registration, payment, billing, and collection policies. This position requires the delivery of excellent customer service while accurately maintaining student account records. Responsibilities: ? Provide an excellent customer service experience while helping students understand their bill, payment options, holds, refunds, etc. ? Maintain and review student accounts throughout the collection process to ensure prompt payment of outstanding balances ? Process payments and accurately post to accounts primarily using the Banner system and applying specific detail codes ? Adhere to the College policies for applying fee charges issued to the student ? Produce student invoices, letters, receipts etc. as necessary ? Serve as a contact person to work with third party vendor to initiate and update student payment plans using Tuition Management System ? Liaise with other departments such as the Offices of Financial Aid, Residence Life, Registrar, Finance, and Admission regarding charges, aid, payments, and adjustments ? Prepare bank deposit slips for check and cash payment received ? Reconcile daily deposits and submit a Cash Flow and Cash Count Sheet ? Secure and maintain daily receipt for the department cash flow box ? Apply and review funds for student meal plans using the One Card payment system ? Review and process refunds request via Banner and Argos system ? Manage heavy volume of phone calls, emails, and in person traffic ? Assist in managing and overseeing student workers ? Bachelor's degree required ? Minimum two years customer service experience preferably in higher education ? Minimum two years experience in an accounting-related environment preferred ? Working knowledge of Banner or comparable student information system highly preferred ? Familiarity with student aid programs preferred ? Excellent communication and interpersonal skills ? Positive and proactive attitude with the ability to adapt to change ? Must be detail-oriented and able to handle tight deadlines ? Must be able to maintain a high level of confidentiality and professionalism ? Accurate keyboarding and 10-key skills ? Ability to maintain a high quality of work and level of accuracy ? Organized, results-oriented, and motivated to perform without extensive direction ? Working knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite, especially Word and Excel ? Willing to occasionally work late hours and weekends
